When a timber harvest is in order, Reader Forest Management works with the landowner and logger to ensure a successful job. Our staff has handled hundreds of harvests in the past and has many referrals available upon request. Once the landowner objectives and harvest prescription have been determined, RFM handles all the paperwork, including contracts and permits with the state and town. All the boundary lines are well marked, and the trees to be harvested are marked with blue paint, making as close to a turn-key job as possible.

Throughout the harvest, we check on the job regularly making sure that everything is going as planned. We frequently check in with the landowner as well to make sure they are pleased, and arrange for walk-through’s if desired. Since we also market the forest products, we pay the landowner weekly and promptly. When the job is done, we make sure that all the wood is removed from the landing area, and it is graded.
